Why A One Day Garage Floor Installation is Not the Best Option

Update on 2 day vs 1 day floor coatings for Colorado Springs Garage Floors

While the original article below remains true, we have updated our process to provide you with the same 3 coatings. On smaller jobs, we can now complete them in one day in most cases. When comparing services, be sure to verify that if they offer a 1-day coating, you are receiving 3 coats of polyaspartic, not just 2!  On larger jobs, it will still take a day and a half, because we will not take short-cuts – we want to deliver the best quality job possible to our clients.

Why Some One Day Garage Floor promises are not the best option

We would like to educate you on something very important to us here at Colorado Springs Garage Floors.  A one day garage floor installation is not a good option for many reasons. It is important to consider the potential drawbacks of such an option before deciding to hire someone to use this installation process for your project.

A one day garage floor may be less expensive than a two-day installation, but it also offers far fewer benefits. One day garage floors are often installed using cheaper and/or lesser quality materials and installation steps, which are more prone to cracking, staining, and other types of damage. Additionally, these floors often do not hold up well over time, meaning that they can require frequent repairs and maintenance. Finally, one day garage floor coatings often lack the durability and longevity of more permanent solutions.  The shortcuts of a one day garage floor installation do not leave you with a high-quality garage floor!

This is what you see from our competitors:

  • ✔ Revamp your garage in as little as a day
  • ✔ Get your garage floor coating ready for use in just 24 hours.
  • ✔ Same-day garage floors

But let us explain to you why it is not the best option, and why having Colorado Springs Garage Floors use their 3-step (2-day) process is a much better way to go.

Why Not A One Day Garage Floor?

Many companies in the Colorado Springs area are now offering a 2 coat system, where they broadcast or throw the flake into the first coat of a rolled-on floor. They will tell you it is the same, but it is not.  We do not recommend it, and we do not use this process.  They advertise that it is the same quality as any other system, but this is not accurate. We strongly advise against using this process, as it does not meet our standards.

So, Is Faster Really Better?

This saying is applied in many facets of life when describing that all great achievements take time and should not be rushed. We believe that the same is true for industrial-quality garage floor coating systems!

What Is A One Day Garage Floor, and Does Colorado Springs Garage Floors Install a One Day Garage Floor?

One Day Garage Floor vs Two Day Garage Floor Systems – Why the Differences DO Matter

At Colorado Springs Garage Floors, we believe in quality and taking the time to do things right. That’s why we DO NOT broadcast or throw the flake into the first coat. We take the extra time to install a 3-coat system and do not broadcast the flake into the first coat as others do to save time and money.  This ensures that our floors look great and last for years to come.  Don’t settle for anything less than the best. Invest in quality flooring and trust that you’re getting a product that is built to stand the test of time.

  • ✔  Polyaspartic garage floor coatings cure quickly, so adding an extra coat doesn’t significantly increase the amount of time needed to complete the job.  You can go back to using your garage quicker than when epoxy coatings are used.
  • ✔  More coats mean more protection against wear and tear. Polyaspartic is an extremely durable material, but it can still be scratched or chipped if it isn’t properly installed.
  • ✔  Three coats also provide a smoother, more even finish. This is especially important if you’re looking for a high-gloss finish.
  • ✔  The most crucial factor for successful flooring is surface tension and adhesion. When a thin wet film is present, surface tension is also present. This is the case when the resin is rolled out onto a concrete floor. If the surface tension is not released or is increased too much, it can impede the resin from properly soaking into the floor.  When the resin dries, it won’t have the opportunity to lock into the many pores and surface areas of the concrete, leading to a floor with poor adhesion. Applying too much resin (a thicker coat) will make surface tension even higher, making it even more difficult for it to soak in.  This is why installing a 2 coat system is not recommended, as you will have these issues and your flooring will be compromised from the start.
  • ✔  The thickness of a garage floor coating system is extremely important. If a coating is too thin, it will not provide sufficient protection during the day-to-day rigors of garage use. In contrast, if a coating is too thick, it will become too brittle. So, utilizing the correct product at the correct thickness in each stage of the process is vitally important for durability and longevity.

Polyaspartic Floor Coating – The Best on the Market

It’s not enough that you choose a company that installs Polyaspartic floor coating, but make sure they do not use the one day garage floor installation process, which will only give you two coats.  This will not give you the quality of floors that you will get from Colorado Springs Garage Floors and their two-day, 3 coat process.

It’s the dream of many homeowners. A garage floor that looks good and is easy to install and maintain. There are many flooring companies in Colorado Springs that will promise to refinish your garage floor in one day.  Colorado Springs Garage Floors does not do this, and let us explain why and why you will have a superior garage floor finish with our 2-day process.

There are some potential downfalls with installing a one day garage floor. Depending on the environment, the coating may not last very long or could be prone to cracking or peeling if not properly installed or maintained. Additionally, these coatings are not as durable as other options such as Polyaspartic, so they may need to be replaced sooner rather than later if exposed to heavy wear and tear.

Sometimes you will be told they are using Polyaspartic, but it turns out they are using Epoxy on one of the coats.  And make sure all coats are Polyaspartic.

In the long run, having us install a 3 coat system in two days is a superior and longer-lasting option – one more day spent on your garage will give you a floor that lasts longer, and a better investment.

Downfalls Of Installing A One Day Garage Floor

A one day garage floor may sound like a dream come true with no long waiting period. But as with most things in life, there are downfalls to installing a one day garage floor – ones that could be overlooked if you don’t know what to look out for.

To start, the coatings used are usually either Polyaspartic or epoxy. While both of these options can provide good results for your concrete sealer garage floor, there is a notable difference between the two. Polyaspartic coatings tend to last longer than epoxy coatings because they are more durable against abrasion and chemical spills.  But even using Polyaspartic, when they only give you the two-coat system and broadcast the flake into the first coat, the coating could very well not seal properly onto the concrete, and your floors will not last.

Next, when sealing concrete garage floors, it’s important to make sure that the surface is completely smooth and free from any imperfections. The grinding of concrete surfaces is very important.  Garage floor grinding prepares the concrete for the coating.  Colorado Springs Garage Floors properly prepares the concrete and fills any cracks or other damage on the floor before applying the coating. Additionally, it’s best practice to use a primer or sealer before applying any coating in order to ensure better adhesion and durability of the finished product, something that is not truly done in the one day garage floor installation.

These details can easily be overlooked when installing a one day garage floor.  They’re essential if you want your new flooring to remain looking its best for years to come – so always make sure you understand exactly what kind of coating you’re using, and how best to apply it!

Polyaspartic Floor Coating Is Superior To Epoxy Garage Floor Coating

An epoxy floor coating may seem like a sensible choice for your garage, but it could be the start of a slippery slope. Instead, you should consider Polyaspartic floor coating as an alternative.

Polyaspartic floor coatings provide superior protection and durability compared to epoxy. This type of concrete coating and sealer is best suited for garages and coating for concrete floors because it can handle heavy usage without cracking or chipping. It’s also more resistant to heat damage than other types of coatings; making it ideal for hot climates.  And it can also be installed in our cold Colorado weather without issue.  This is why it is considered a superior industrial concrete sealer.

Polyaspartic garage floor coating is fast setting and won’t require days or weeks to cure as traditional epoxies do. Plus, because it cures quickly and at lower temperatures than epoxy, there’s no need to worry about the paint fading or peeling over time. With its superior performance and ease of installation, Polyaspartic flooring is the perfect solution for any garage looking for a durable finish that can withstand wear and tear in any climate.

Switching from epoxy to Polyaspartic provides numerous benefits that make it the best coating for garage floors. Now we can move on to discussing the cost comparison of one day vs two-day garage floors.

Cost Comparison Of One Day Vs. Two-Day Garage Floors

In the modern world, we are often looking for a quick fix and fast solution to our problems. One day garage floor provide us with just that – an opportunity to have our garage floors transformed in a single day! But before you jump on this seemingly magical offer, let’s take a look at the cost comparison of one day vs. two-day garage floors in Colorado Springs and weigh up the pros and cons.

To start off, here’s a list of 3 things you should consider when resurfacing your garage floor:
1) The coating material used – Is it durable enough?  Remember, Polyaspartic is the superior product to use.
2) Costing for the project – Are you getting value for money?  Not if your flooring won’t last!
3) Time taken for completion – Spend one more day on your garage floor coating and get a better floor.

When it comes to the cost comparison of one day garage floor vs. two-day garage floors, it is important to understand that there are different types of coatings available for resurfacing a garage floor in Colorado Springs. A Polyaspartic coating is considered the best option as it is highly durable and offers superior protection from wear and tear compared to epoxy coatings. Although some charge more for this than some other coatings, its longevity makes it more cost-effective over time.  Here in the Colorado Springs area, we have found our pricing competitive to the one day garage floor companies.

Polyaspartic coatings dry and set quicker, which makes them ideal for those who want their projects completed quickly and efficiently – no waiting around!

So if you’re looking for garage floors that are both long-lasting and quick to install, then Polyaspartic coatings may be your best bet. You’ll get great results without breaking the bank or having to wait days or weeks before you can use your newly transformed space! Now let’s take a closer look at the benefits that this coating has to offer…

cement coatingPolyaspartic Coating Benefits

Polyaspartic coatings are one of the most popular concrete floor coating options for garage floors. This type of sealer is a two-component polyurea system that is fast-curing and provides superior adhesion to concrete surfaces. It is also extremely durable, making it an ideal choice for garage floors that receive high traffic and require frequent cleaning. Polyaspartic coatings provide protection from water, oil, grease, and other fluids, as well as prevent staining or discoloration due to UV exposure.

The three-coat Polyaspartic system is known for its extreme durability and longevity. It is applied in three coats: a primer coat, a second coat with the flake broadcasted in it, followed by a top coat. The primer seals the concrete surface while the top coats provide additional layers of protection against wear and tear. Additionally, this type of sealant can be used on new or existing concrete garage floors, making it a great option for those looking to resurface their garage flooring quickly and effectively.

Polyaspartic coatings are easy to maintain; they don’t require any special cleaners or chemicals to keep them looking like new. All that’s needed is regular sweeping and mopping with warm water and soap, allowing you to keep your garage floor looking great without having to worry about damage from harsh chemicals or abrasives. With all these benefits, it’s no wonder Polyaspartic coating has become one of the most popular concrete sealant and concrete coating options for garage floors. Transitioning into the next section about the installation process of a one day garage floors will help you understand more about this option’s disadvantages even further!

Installation Process Of A One Day Garage Floor

A one day garage floor is a process many companies are moving to in order to save themselves time, product costs, and labor costs.  This does not necessarily save you any money, however.   Do know that this process will give your floor adhesion issues, and will more likely peel off or up prematurely.  This is due to surface tension, explained above.

Because they take these shortcuts, yes they can install your flooring in one day.  But is it worth it when you know the outcome might not last?

The primary drawback of using a one day garage floor is that it does not offer the same level of durability as other concrete coating systems like 3-coat Polyaspartic floor coatings. Furthermore, this type of sealing doesn’t last as long and requires more frequent maintenance than more durable systems. Although it does provide adequate protection for most residential garages, it may not be the best solution for areas with heavy foot traffic or those in need of extended longevity from their surface coating system.

Therefore, when considering which type of sealing system is right for you, make sure to weigh both the pros and cons of each option before making your final decision – especially if you’re looking for an extended lifespan from your concrete coating system.

Can I Use Polyaspartic Flooring For A Commercial Space as a Commercial Floor Concrete Sealer?

When you think of garages, you don’t immediately think of commercial spaces. But the truth is, you can use Polyaspartic floors in a variety of ways beyond just your typical garage.  Polyaspartic is a very popular commercial floor sealing product.

First off, it’s important to note that these floors are designed to last. With proper care and maintenance, they can stay looking like new for years to come. Polyaspartic floors are easy to clean and maintain. They come in a variety of finishes and colors so you can customize your space as much as you’d like giving it visual appeal.  Smaller commercial spaces can usually be installed in two days also, and we can work around your schedule.  And while we can usually install a garage floor in two days, larger commercial spaces will take longer.  So if you’re looking for an easy way to spruce up your commercial or industrial space without sacrificing durability or safety, then Polyaspartic flooring from Colorado Springs Garage Floors might be exactly what you need for your commercial floor coatings.

What Is The Best Way To Prepare The Surface Before Installation?concrete grinding service

When it comes to installing a garage floor, the best way to prepare the surface is crucial. It will determine how successful the installation is and how long the floor will last. So, when it comes time to lay that new floor, make sure your contractor preps your flooring properly.  This is another area that one day garage floor companies will take a short-cut.

First, all you need to do is clear the flooring for us to work on it.  We make sure the surface is clean and level. Any dirt or debris is removed to ensure your floor won’t have any bumps or dips in it. We use our diamond bit grinder for smoothing and preparing the concrete to accept the floor coating.  We will also fill cracks and gaps in the concrete.

To sum up, preparation of the surface before installation is key in order to get a successful result with your garage flooring.
